Welcome to My Book Blog
About Me
Hello everyone! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Britney Oliver and on here and other social media platforms I go by Literary Dystopia! As my name suggests this is a blog about books. I chose the name Literary Dystopia for a number of reasons but the main one is my love of books and I honestly prefer dystopias over utopias. I love scary movies and post-apocalyptic stuff. Hence the name, Literary Dystopia. I am a 25-year-old wife, and a mother of a 3-year-old little girl and a 5 month old little boy (born in February) I love to read all kinds of genres and I’m open to any suggestions.
What to Expect
I’m going to list some things to expect on this blog! I am a book blogger, book reviewer, ARC reader/reviewer, etc. My plans for this blog are pretty straightforward, I’m going to talk about books I’m currently reading, talk about my weekly/monthly/yearly TBR, deep dive into my reviews for the books I’ve finished, etc. I would also love to do discussion posts with you guys weekly or even monthly to interact! If blogs aren’t really your thing, I am going to leave links to my social medias down below feel free to follow me on all social medias I would love to share my love of books with you either way!
Here’s the list of other posts you will be able to find here!
- Currently Reading – This will feature the book I’m reading, the blurb and how I’m reading it whether it be e-book or physical book.
- ARC Reads – This will feature all the books I have or am ARC reading. I will update the list as I go and where to find each book and a little background on each author and little snippets of their other pieces of work.
- Book Stacks – Occasionally I will do a book stack post this will consist of a stack of my favorite books (I may do my favorite books for the month, in general, or for the year), favorite books that are the same color, genre stack, trope stack, and stack challenges.
- My Review Policy – Basically how I review my books, what my explanation is for my rating system is, etc.
- Books with my Pets – Just a little post introducing my pets and I’ll be honest with you just a post of photos of my pets laying on me while I read so if you’re just here for photos of my cats I have this little gem for you.
- Seasonal Posts – Basically a list of books under one of these categories: Summer Beach reads, Cozy Fall Reads, Winter Faves, and Springtime Reads.
- Husband posts – Basically my husband will be featured in two different post tropes: Husband Guesses Book Titles (currently an on-going series on my Bookstagram and BookTok, followers love it), and Husband Chooses my Books Book Haul (we haven’t done this before, but the premise is we’ll go to a bookstore and instead of me picking the books he will).
- Book Hauls/Unhauls – Books I buy or get rid of and explanations of why I was drawn to said book or why I decided to unhaul the book.
- Monthly Book Wrap Up – Every month I will make a post that consists of my monthly reads, a small review of each, the rating, whether I read them as an e-book or physical book, and then links to each book.
- Bookshelf tour – I will probably do this post once initially and then never make a post about it again unless three things occur: I get 100 more books, or I get a new bookshelf, or if both occur.
- Stuff Your Kindle Day Book Haul – I will try to make a list of all the books I end up getting on Stuff Your Kindle Day but considering on my first one, September 20-23, 2023, I got 371 books, and 27 book bundles I will probably add photos from my Instagram showing the photos of the books and move on since listing every single book would be overkill.
That is my list for what to expect on this blog! I will probably throw in some trendy posts here and there and that’s why I didn’t list them. For the most part everything listed will be pretty consistently posted.
Everything will be fairly organized, and I will try to make things very easy to find. My plan is to color code, link, and put everything under a category! I hope you guys stick around! Feel free to follow me on all of my social medias, like posts, comment and share!
